I have been a regular LOWES customer and recently purchased a hot water tank there. Lowes was to have their installer give me an estimate conditioned on my acceptance of their estimate. I was told at time of purchase that a $35 charge for the estimate was refundable if I did not accept their estimate. The price for tank & installation was $1258.
Very expensive, want to charge for moving a piece of furniture when you are spending 600. On product plus the sub contracted labor. Met a guy in the parking lot who will do it for way less and yes he is a state licensed contractor.
This location offers some of the rudest customer service reps. Went in today. Made a payment on a Lowes card. The csr gets on the phone while helping me and starts talking. Ahe did not even hand me mt receipt I had to get it. I waited foe her to get off the phone. When she did I asked if everything processed. She said "well you have the receipt dont you." Will go to another location for now on.
I contracted a reputable independent installer that did the job for $775 and moreover I got a RHEEM tank, a better brand than the A.O. SMITH tank from LOWES. NOW LOWES IS REFUSING TO REFUND the $35 which was promised refundable by the two salespersons who sold me the tank. I shall fight this let your readers know the outcome.
